Nancy K. Curtas
BIOGRAPHY: 1999 PRESENT
Born in Indiana, Nancy and her family moved to Virginia in the mid 60’s and Nancy has been in the Fredericksburg area since. She attended local schools and the local community college. She worked in the retail business for many years, prior to becoming a fulltime stay-at-home mom to two children. Nancy is active in many civic organizations and serves as the Covenants Committee Chair of her own community.
Nancy started working in Association Management in October of 1999 as an Administrative Assistant for a small local Management Company. Nancy was quickly promoted to Association Manager and has successfully managed a portfolio of townhouses, condominiums, and single-family homeowner Associations. Nancy has worked in all aspects of Association Management and has the experience of a well seasoned Association Manager.
Prior to joining Blackwood Management, Inc., Nancy worked for a well known local property management company for five years. A large management firm purchased the assets of the company. She continued her employment with the company for a year and a half before coming to Blackwood Management, Inc. in February of 2006.
Since coming to Blackwood Management, Inc. Nancy has helped to streamline policies and procedures. She was instrumental in successfully taking over management of several associations that had been poorly managed by other Management Companies.
Her current Association Management portfolio includes a mix of residential Associations throughout the Fredericksburg area including the counties of Culpeper, Orange, Spotsylvania, and Prince William. Nancy successfully completed the CAI M-100: The Essentials of Community Association Management course and has attended, and continues to pursue, courses/seminars relevant to Association Management. Professional affiliations include membership in the Community Associations Institute (CAI).
